It was an intermittent issue, as the engine light would not immediately re-appear after clearing. Recap: B2168 (running lights output shorted high) - unused blue wire on harness was shorting to black wire. Hope this helps anyone who is troubleshooting the same code, who may have a similar issue. Hi Carol, Your rear brake light switch is seeing low battery voltage and is going to fail. The U codes are lost communication with the BCM and or ECM. It is possible with the can bus system for an engine to shut down. I would have a dealer look at this problem.
