They want to replace the shift to correct the shift to park estimate $803.28 plus tax, 3rd tail light replacement $599.76 +tax, popping sound rear suspension repair. $ 1522.62. I figure I can replace the light. Not sure if I should go to another mechanic in lieu of the dealership for another opinion.

It is incredibly easy to do, is free, and works very well. It simply bends that tab so that more leverage is applied to the park sensor button when shifted to park. The problem is that tab is weak and can bend the opposite direction over time which then causes not enough pressure on the park sensor when you shift to park.
