When I first switched to the Autolites, several people said the 386s were the replacement plugs for the D-18s but according to the company the correct plug to be using in Hs, Ms and the other 4cylinder IHs is the 3116. 386 is for the 6 cylinder engines like the 560, 706 & rtc.

The larger engine required a larger carburetor. THAT is where the extra horsepower comes from.Yes the H for sure had a low low gear option, still had the 5 speeds , but a low first gear , not sure on the rest of the ratios.
