As the lever gets near the bar (not all the way in) close off the bleeder. Repeat until the reservoir is almost empty - you'll get into a rhythm while doing it.

It's the same for my bike and I usually stop a little short of that, about 15ish as apiazza mentioned. The oil filter should be 2 full turns from base contact.
