Jeep jk running hot.

This is my first Jeep Wrangler. It is a 2016 JKU with the 3.6, about 62K on the Odometer and was pretty much stock when I bought it back in October. On my first trip of any distance, I got a check engine light and a P0128 for Low coolant temperature. Looked at the gauge and it seemed ok to be driving with low a low coolant temperature ...Engine running hot (intermittent) Not terrible hot but hot enough that the fan runs on high. Happens more often on hot days but other times it’s just fine even pulling the fishing boat and trailer. This is new problem just the past 2 weeks. It indicates the engine is not reaching operating temperature. From what I can find the 3.6L V-6 takes a 203 degree thermostat. I had the rad flushed/serviced about a month ago....then BAM, out of no where...my temps climb past 235 and the dial starts to move off of center. I have the feature to see the temp on the gauge cluster...and it'll bounce from 208-235 in the stretch of a mile. AC on. If I turn it off, same thing.

It is currently out of warranty. 2013 jk running hot above 3000 rpm. I can’t find any leaks in the system. I did try bleeding it today and no luck. Coolant is full an so is the reservoir is just below max. Never had any issues till I was towing the jet skis back from havasu a few weeks ago. Got to 3/4 on temp gauge. And now it likes to go above to 3/4 when I’m not babying it.The reason they did this is they wanted the oil to be hotter and the exhaust gas temps to be lower. By having lower exhaust gas temps they were able to run 20% exhaust gas in the cylinder on the compression stroke rather than the normal 10%. Believe it or not, this actually increased fuel economy by 5 to 6%.

Test the O2 sensors, they can get old and slow to react. Typical O2 sensor service life is about 100,000-150,000 miles. Blend door actuator for sure for the no-heat-in-the-cabin deal, but the engine overheating seems far out for that. maybe a clogged heater core (might impede flow) Im dealing with no heat in cabin right now, except on the highest setting. Likely the actuator, but at only 17,000 miles is frustrating.
