and also as a player, some people would probably want to "prepare" their botw save file, imagine when you found out that you can carry over save file from botw on totk release day,but you havent finish botw or you lost the save file, and then you hold playing totk on release date because you want to have a proper botw save file first.

There is a toggle on the menu screen that you select to switch from Normal Mode to Master Mode.
