Great drag race carb where max airflow is important, but a real PITA carb when you have lots of throttle transitions. A well tuned FCR is really tough to beat.

Compared to the Lectron and the FCR the smart carb is similar price. I am not so much looking for huge performance gains by burning more gas. Smart carb is also for 4 strokes. I am thinking of just doing a JD Jet kit on the 36mm mikuni carb and seeing how it runs. Then eventually getting the Smart Carb.

Be forwarned , you'll never be able to get the Lectron perfect bottom to top at the same time , it was originally designed for two strokes.

The effect of altitude on carb performance is vastly exaggerated. My drz has an FCR39 (no choke). I live at 2000 ft and my trail rides take me routinely beyond 7500ft.
