The best use of piet on the long run is with troopers under a veers lead. If there's no gideon he is the team starter so he needs speed speed speed. Then all the dps you can get. If gideon is there he's the starter, so piet needs to be just fast enough to go after gideon if gideon starts with basic/armor shred: vpiet +20 > (vgideon+20)/0.9.Veers is pretty mediocre, but then, stormtrooper is pure garbage, so veers is a definite upgrade.
