Normally I'd say small world is harder (wyverns spawn at lower altitude, evil biomes eat up your world faster, fewer total items to be found, less time to defeat WoF, etc.), but I'm not sure with "get fixed boi", since one of ...You just had bad luck. Lava charm is rare to find in chests in ordinary seeds. No surprise that it’s hard to get in the Zenith seed. If you’ve got a magma stone you can shimmer that into a lava charm. Or, as you’ve said, fish. You could also farm Hell Bats for a Fire Stone and turn it into a lava charm using shimmer.
