The upside you are right near 5th Ave where all the (overpriced ) shopping and bars are. Lot's of action. The Riu Palaces are in Playacar which has been sparred a lot of the sea grass mess.

The Hilton is on the opposite side of the street from Wyndham Alltra. The beach is better on the north side of the Constituyentes pier. The other Wyndham (Viva Wyndham Maya) is in Playacar, and farther south than Playacar Palace, so a much farther walk.
