1-2 failed to validate is normal, usually is just reinstalling directx whether it needed to or not. For the VAC error, usually signing out of steam and back in will fix it. Also make sure steam is up to date.Btw. the "file failed to validate" has nothing to do with Steam cloud or anything, its a remnant of the DRM used. Methinks one of the files is just bugged by default, and will fail regardless. As for when it will reacquire, it does so immediately after validating, but as I said, the file that gets retreived will fail to validate regardless. As for what file it is, your guess is as good as mine, but it is likely the main game executable (Borderlands2.exe).

There's been a problem with these games ever since the Windows 10 Anniversary update.
