Two types of derelict freighter in game. Broken ass floating garbage thing with (usually) two cargo pods nearby. Shooting these gives chromatic and a few pirates. The kind you'll only find by using the searching device that you can buy from the shady guy in the tent on every space station.

To get all the ships to appear, you have to restart the game, or move the freighter. Then do it again, taking out the 10 fuel pods. Finally, just shoot the dreadnought hull until it's destroyed. Ignore the engines and everything else.
