Those should never be in a position to allow water in. They're there to let air out when all the windows are up, so they're not designed to be check valves against water.A dead battery will make it so you cannot remove key. As for why battery is dead.... Could be something left on or the battery's life may be over. Have battery charged and load tested if possible. Or charge and try it if load test not available. Purchase new battery if tests bad. Consider the new style AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) type battery.
