The ability to remove the flash hider on an original 15.5" HK barrel would constitute a SBR and is a no, no per the ATFIt hooks around the rear flange of the barrel so they slide out together. Just don't forget to put it back in place when you put the barrel back in. It's really very easy. And the pin isn't a normal rollpin, it's a special spring pin, and you can reuse it with no problems. Most were 5mm on the nose, one was 5.02mm and one was 4.98mm. Personally, I'd rather see the hole exactly 5mm because it is easier to control the pin size than the hole size, and the pins are harder than the barrel - but I'm sure HK had their reasons. T.
