This is how I roll Siren in team builds. Lots of healing for you and your teammates with a little extra Damage and Bullet Speed so you can heal them even faster. Also remember that enemies stay still but your friends don't. The hardest thing about healing in Borderlands is learning each of your friends movement types.

So generally bc it is an easy option ppl go with bee, sandhawk, pimpernel, and ladyfist. But Maya can also make great use of non-bee reliant gear, most are just a bit harder to get. Stuff like the tattler, antagonist, bekah, and twister can make for a great end game build.

I have multiple Maya saves, and alternate frequently between builds. I use a Scorn build most, but go SS for speed runs. SS downsides are pretty badly overblown, most likely because people frequently pair it with a Legendary Binder. The extra Suspension boost makes it more painful when the orb gets weird. I prefer to use it with L Siren or L Cat.Anyway Maya is probably the most forgiving character in the game to build. Most people end up hitting the capstone in cataclysm because it's free slag, but a lot of the rest is preference. If you want leveling advice, I usually go down cataclysm first (maybe throw a couple point into healing orbs if you want health regen). Don't fight the guy until your level 50, as that's the recommended mission level. If you can, try to get the help of a good Zer0 player. Zer0 if used correctly, can kill this boss in a single shot. In the early game, Phaselock is a temporary Crowd Control on one target. Later on, it becomes a powerful offensive tool for manipulating entire fields of enemies, weakening them and even killing some of them, but in the beginning, it's just very limited Crowd Control. Following that, I would recommend working towards Cloud Kill.
If you want to play always solo, included raid bosses, the most straightforward character is Salvador. Zer0 probably gets the #2 spot thanks to skills like b0re and Crit Ascensi0n giving him an edge against a number of bosses, but he's not as well rounded as Sal.
