Nissan xterra vdc off slip reset.

Yesterday while parked in a parking lot the VDC/ABS/BRAKE and SLIP lights all came on. When I turn off the car and then it back on, none of the lights come on until I start driving. I looked online for a fix and get everything from a blown ABS/STOP LIGHT fuse to replacing the ABS sensor. Most solutions I see are only for when the same lights ...Disconnect the negative battery cable. Put the original Brake switch back in. Then after 15 mins of the negative battery being left off, then connect and see if that clears it up. Ask Your Own Nissan Question. Pull your Xterra to an area where you can drive straight ahead without turning the wheel for a couple hundred feet. Have the wheel straight. Turn off engine. Restart engine and pull straight ahead in drive. Light should go off in a couple hundred feet. The book is not too clear on this.try and disconnect the pos battery cable for a bout 10 minutes and see if this resets it make sure you have radio code in case ur radio locks. The simplest thing to do is to take it back to the dealer. My 2008 Xterra had the VDC/slip light on when it was delivered. Just took it back the next day and they fixed it. Not really sure what the problem was. They said the steering angle detector (or something like that) had to be re-adjusted and the computer had to be reset.

IF you abs, vdc off, or slip lights are on check these things... 1. Check brake fluid. 2. Check all abs sensors and clips to make sure the wires are not pulled out of plug. 3. check abs sensors on all wheel bearings. If I hit the rear diff switch the REAR DIFF light goes out and then ABS and SLIP come on. I can hear the 4wd engage both high and low when I turn it on with my door open.

They turned them off in under 5 minutes, it was free and i didn't have to wait. they did it right away.
