I have a floating dock on my pond. The previous owner built it. Looks like he laid out the barrels, then built a frame with 2x6. He allowed about 6" of play, then ran a 2x6 between the frame. He did this for 5 barrels down each side. He then put 5/4 boards on top for the floor.
