It also gives you the versatility to access most spells and miracles, which makes it the best pure caster option. 30/30 and 45/45 are the most frequent stopping points for fth/int levelling.

Pyromancy is like easy mode in DS1. You don't need to invest in faith or get intelligence as it scales off the level of the pyromancy flame. You need the merchant in blight town to level the pyromancy flame to the Max, if I remember correctly. As it doesn't need much magic investment it pairs well with a strength/dex build.
