The last time I worked on an Odyssey sliding door motor, tightening the slack involved pulling on the two finger tabs that stick out from that white plastic "cable drum" (I don't have a better word for it) and rotating it to tighten both the fore and aft cables simultaneously. That is the fuse for both doors that is hot all the time, and is the one that people find the parasitic drain on when there is a door latch problem. That said, that door is VERY unsafe without the rear latch in the latched position.
As far as the sliding door issue, if I pull the handle on the outside, it will open about 1-2 inches and then close with a beeping sound. If I hold it a little longer, it works fine. ...
