Stay on the island during the night or use a totem and start at 6am. Bring tons of food and a good weapon. Then it's pretty easy to reach the top! The volcano dungeon is actually quite short, and you'll need to clear it several times anyway to get enough cinder shards if you intend to upgrade your tools.

There are 7 walnuts that the parrot doesn't give hints for. 1 on bush in gem birds shrine area, 3 for banana on shrine by stairs to leos birdhouse, 3 for playing 3 rounds of the dart game.
