Steam files failed to validate.
As far as Steam validating files, this is an issue that is between the Steam client and Activision. There is no way for the end user to fix that issue. The only time you should validate the files is if the game will not load/run at all. This would mean that a file somewhere in the games directory is corrupt and needs to be replaced.
For me it was Microsoft Edge updating. To find out what it is for you, press Win + R, type in appdata, then navigate to Local > Activision > Call of Duty > crash_reports. Find the latest crash zip file, and then inside that file, check the dxdiag_oncrash.txt file.
