Dec 8, 2018 · I have Rec Tec Trailblazer and really like it (would say love, but reserve that for very very special people and things). I would not necessarily go for the bigger RT-700 unless you need that kind of cooking space. It is easier to heat up a smaller chamber, easier to clean less surface area, and gets hotter if needed.

I also like the smokiness of the lumberjack competition blend pellets.I brought the bacon to a 165 internal before resting in the fridge for 24 hours then split the chunk of belly I was using in two reserving half for bacon and half for burnt ends. There is hardly any fat on a tri-tip if it's trimmed properly. The entire process takes less than an hour. And I never use a drip pan.
