For your hardware, I'd recommend playing without the 60 fps mod.In handheld you have 720p window with DR between 540p and 720p. In docked you have 1080p window with DR between 720p and 900p. So if you are using docked mode in handheld, you're downscaling window resolution to 720p which means you will get not clean image, but approximation. The addition of the scaling feature helps as games that do not run well on Deck can be toned down. The current "meta game" for great performance is either 0.50x or 0.75x render scale docked + FSR. When trying to emulate a slower GPU and a lower resolution, you get better performance. The logic is there, and credit to the team for the execution. I think if you have the GPU power it's probably better to just run in handheld mode with 2x or 3x upscaling, that way you'll definitely be above 1080p and you get some extra anti-aliasing due to the higher resolution being downsampled.
