My newest method is 8-7 if I’m low on troops as they still give 8 to 11 of them and sometimes a sword or backpack, then I bounce up to 19-9 or 20-2, which seem to give at least one, and typically 3 of these. I usually get a hero or two as well.
Everyone seems to have an opinion on which levels to best farm heroes, I personally have done extremely well in 16-6. 16-6 does indeed appear to be a good spot for farming heroes.
