The Estoc and the Rapier are both popular weapons in Dark Souls II, but they have different strengths and weaknesses that make them suitable for different playstyles. The Estoc is a versatile weapon that excels in both thrusting and slashing attacks. Whenever someone invades me, I, for the most part, cheese them mercilessly with but a few simple light stabs from Estoc. It's absolutely insane how much damage it does, in both PvE and PvP, and I've yet to fight anyone else who uses it. I'm the only person I've run into who seems to use the glory that is Bestoc.I'm experimenting with both. Both suck with stagger but I like the counter and reach with the estoc. But I think it's just not enough. What's the appeal of the uchi? Strength based weapons seem to do just as much damage but with higher poise stagger...

In most cases, going 66 str and minimum dex with heavy infusion or 70 to 80 dex and minimum str with sharp infusion will heavily outdamage quality. E.g. Lothric Knight Sword has 413 AR on a quality build, 460 AR on a 13/80 dex build. Estoc is indeed best used on a dex build. 425 AR with 80 dex.
