There just aren't that many surgery questions and the surgery shelf is very medicine heavy. DeVirgilio's is case files on steroids for surgery. I never got anything out of case files but DeVirgilio got me a 90% or something on the surgery shelf. Started focusing much more on UW (doing incorrects, repeating harder blocks) and my shelf exam scores have been consistently better. Amboss tests so many random facts that usually do not show up on the shelf exams. Imo, UW is just a better tool overall, for both shelf prep and Step 2. There's a reason why people stick to UW over Amboss.

Also, try to finish DV and Uworld surgery by half way through your rotation. Take an NBME at the half way point and then continue to take one until the week before your shelf. -If your short on time I would skip OME and do DiVirgilios (study+do qs) + Uworld surgery + NBMEs (all 4) + Emma Holliday at the end.

UW is the best and sometimes I can't do all the questions during a 4 week rotation. I prioritize UW then do AMBOSS if I have time. AMBOSS tends to have some more esoteric, kinda random questions that are lower yield. If you only do one, do UW. If you can afford both and love question banks, do both.
