That's the reason Hodgdon does not list any loads with that primer and powder going 1200 fps. Your option is to load some up with, say, 17.5 gr and the SP12, and send them in for testing and see what you get.There are powders that will do 7/8 and use a grain or two less than Clays, but Clays sure will work, and you have it. You can never go wrong with W209 and STS. One powder you might consider is Titewad but it is pretty dense which mean you might get dished crimps on an STS. I've been reloading with Hodgdon Titewad on my MEC Sizemaster. I get quite a bit of powder flakes 'leaking' from the charge bar area when reloading. I have a brass washer that does help with the leaking, but it doesn't stop it by any means. When I reload with Clays and Universal Clays I don't have this problem. Thanks, Wayne

Promo and TiteWad are a little too fast burning for me. You can push Promo and TiteWad to the 1200 f/s level 1 1/8 oz of shot, but the pressures are up there. My personal preference is to load 1 level below the fastest load. I like TiteWad for my 1 oz Singles and 1st shot doubles ammo.
