It appears that this wire is common to both the ABS and VTM, and when the wire is cut both systems are disabled, turning on the warning lights. $80 part/$85 labor.

When you put the shifter in 1 or 2 gear, you can push the VTM-4 button on dash and you will engage the 4 wheel drive constently. If you switch out of 1st or 2nd gear it will disengage automatically. I ended up not having much difficulty changing the valve; all I had to do was unscrew a couple of the trim covers as someone posted earlier. The good news is that the VTM-4 light went away. How do you engage VTM-4 on Acura MDX? To engage VTM, try at a complete stop, shift to 1 or 2 and then hit the VTM button. It should remain engaged until 18 mph and then it will turn off and will not automatically turn back on. While VTM may not be working properly on your vehicle it sounds like you are not properly engaging it.

Nov 12, 2018 · This light being on can indicate the awd is not operating and is tied into the fault above. They need to re-diagnose the fault codes set with this issue to locate for sure which component is acting up needing to be replaced. Once this is done the codes can then be cleared out to restore proper operation. Thanks Pete.
