PTR is only up when there is a patch or something to test. Since 8.3 has come out, there is nothing to test right now. PTR should not even be up. Beta for new expansions is NOT PTR. Beta tests are not done on PTR servers. There are special beta servers set up for beta testing. Beta for Shadowlands is still a long ways off yet.

Customer Support doesn’t have any involvement with the PTR so I can’t say for certain. In many cases if our Game Developers don’t have anything they are actively testing they will shut down the PTR. Which was part of the orginal WOTLK. added in 3.1. But talking about the xp alone, levelling through bgs was a thing in WOTLK, and this kinda removes that whole aspect.
