According burn rate charts, some have Accurate 1680 closer to the 4227s than the 4198s, while others have it closer to the 4198s than the 4227s. I am casting my own 405g Boolit's, using a Lee 405 standard base mold! Using Wheel weights and dropping in water as soon as cast! Loading as poured and not sizing!The Heart of Dixie. I have fired hundreds of 405 gr cast bullets over 27/5744 in 45-70 rifles of various types for years with outstanding results. This is a BP (or a little hotter) level load. Larger 5744 doses can be used for strong actions, but I usually go with other powders for stiff loads.
